St.
Lucy's Auxiliary
is a volunteer organization founded in 1957, to benefit
the Greater Pittsburgh Guild for the Blind. Funds to support
services to those who are visually impaired are raised through
memorial cards and fund raising events throughout the year,
the highlight of which is the annual Medallion Ball
sponsored by St. Lucy's Auxiliary. The Ball recognizes young
women who have dedicated a required number of hours to volunteer
service within the community. The Auxiliary's vision is
to instill the importance of service-to-others in such young
women and to recognize them for their efforts.
Today,
Saint Lucy's Auxiliary continues to support the visually
impaired through Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh, the agency born of the merger of
the Greater Pittsburgh Guild for the Blind and the Pittsburgh
Blind Association. The mission of this new agency is "to
reduce the limitations that may result from loss of vision."
Your
membership and participation will help St. Lucy's to continue
support of this worthy mission.
